At least 18 suspected extremists killed in airstrikes in Egypt's Sinai

At least 18 suspected extremists have been killed in recent days in airstrikes carried out by the Egyptian air force in the Sinai Peninsula, according to an Egyptian army statement released Saturday.


Army spokesman Gen. Tamer al-Rifai said the attacks were launched in the city of al-Arish, capital of North Sinai province, as well as in Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid, and targeted homes and vehicles allegedly used by the suspected militants.
