The Israeli military said Friday that one of its aircraft hit an ambulance which soldiers assessed was being used by a Hamas unit close to their position in the battle zone.
It said a number of Hamas fighters were killed in the strike and said it had information that Hamas used ambulances to transport fighters and weapons.
At least 15 people have been killed after Israeli forces bombed the territory adjacent to the central Al-Shifa hospital of the Gaza Strip's administrative center, Qatari TV channel Al Jazeera reported.
According to Al Jazeera, 15 people were killed and dozens wounded in the shelling attack on the area near the entrance of the hospital located in western Gaza City.
The director of the hospital told the Al Hadath TV channel that "at least 60 Palestinians were killed or injured" in the attack.
