As many as 40 people have died, including three newborns, in the Shifa hospital complex in the Gaza Strip due to a power outage caused by a lack of fuel amid the siege by the Israeli forces, Palestinian Health Minister Mai al-Kaila stated on Friday.
Earlier in the day, Israel expanded its operation against Hamas at the Shifa hospital.
The International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN urged the evacuation of Shifa patients to other facilities.
