Stoltenberg: NATO remains vigilant after missile incident in Poland

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, after discussing with Polish President Andrzej Duda the “missile incident” that violated Polish airspace, said that the alliance is monitoring the situation and remains vigilant in connection with the incident.

Earlier, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported that on Friday morning an unidentified air object entered Polish airspace from Ukraine, it was accompanied by air defense, and then disappeared from radar.

Later, the Polish military stated that we are talking about a missile that went deeper into Polish airspace for about 40 kilometers, then performed a maneuver and returned to Ukrainian territory.

"Discussed the missile incident in Poland with President Duda. NATO expresses solidarity with the ally, is monitoring the situation...NATO remains vigilant," Stoltenberg wrote on the X network.

Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces Wieslaw Kukula said that, according to Polish radar control systems, the missile belongs to Russia. He noted that this remains to be verified.
