Moldovan President Maia Sandu has accused Russia of trying to stage a state coup in her country.
In a statement made after a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, she alleged that "Moscow is seeking to control" Moldova by means of energy blackmail, backing protests, disinformation campaigns and "even attempts at staging a state coup."
Apart from that, she thanked Macron for supporting the current Moldovan government and offering financial and military assistance.
