Republic of Armenia has declared on Friday its official recognition of the State of Palestine.
“The catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza and the ongoing military conflict are one of the key issues on the international political agenda that require resolution,” RT quoted the Armenian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement on its website.
The Foreign Ministry noted that the Republic of Armenia has joined the UN General Assembly resolutions calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
- Israel's foreign ministry said it summoned Armenia's ambassador to Israel after the former Soviet republic declared Friday that it recognises of the State of Palestine.
"Following Armenia's recognition of a Palestinian state, the foreign ministry summoned the Armenian ambassador in Israel for a severe reprimand," it said in a statement shortly after Armenia's announcement.
