Bloomberg: The United States will deploy electronic warfare systems to suppress satellites of the Russian Federation and China

The United States plans to deploy new ground-based electronic warfare systems on its territory.
They will be used to jam Russian and Chinese satellites in the event of a potential military conflict. Bloomberg reports this.

“The United States will deploy new ground-based electronic warfare systems to prevent Chinese and Russian satellites from transmitting information about American troops,” the agency said in an article.

The US Space Force said the system had already been tested this year. It was noted that it is not aimed at protecting US satellites from Russian and Chinese electronic warfare, but at countering the communication satellite capabilities of the Russian Federation and China.

The article also clarifies that the system will not destroy enemy vehicles, but will disable them, so as not to pollute the Earth’s orbit with space debris. It is reported that by the end of 2024, 24 electronic warfare systems will be deployed in the United States, 11 of them in the coming months.

Earlier, the New York Times newspaper spoke about plans to deploy means of attacking satellites. It was said that “substantial orbital capability” would be available by 2026.
