Iranian Foreign Ministry: Tehran has the right to respond to the murder of Hamas Politburo head Haniyeh

Iran has an “inalienable right” to respond to the murder of the head of the Politburo of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh. This is stated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic.

The department indicated that the purpose of the murder committed in Tehran was to increase instability in the Middle East, therefore Iran has the right to “respond to this crime.”

Diplomats called Haniya's death a terrorist attack, a violation of the UN Charter and international law, as well as a threat to the security of the entire world.

The United States is an accomplice in the liquidation of the head of the Hamas Politburo, the Iranian Foreign Ministry believes.

The head of the Hamas Politburo, Ismail Haniyeh, was killed in an attack on his residence in Tehran on Wednesday, July 31.
