US Forces in Syria, Iraq Hit by Multiple Attacks

 Resistance forces launched missiles from Iraq at a US military base in Syria's Conoco gas field, sparking intense US air activity and subsequent shelling in Deir ez-Zur.

Resistance forces in Iraq fired four missiles at a US military base in the Conoco gas field in eastern Syria, according to reports from Lebanese television channel Al Mayadeen. Following the attack on Tuesday evening, US warplanes were reported to be flying intensely over the Deir ez-Zur countryside.

Local sources indicated that US forces retaliated by shelling towns in Deir ez-Zur after the missile strike. Two US officials, speaking anonymously, stated that the missiles did not hit the base, and there were no reported injuries, as confirmed by Reuters.

In a related incident, a Pentagon official reported that eight American soldiers were injured in a drone attack on the Kharab Al-Jir base in Syria on Friday. While none of the injuries were serious, some personnel were being evaluated for "traumatic brain injuries," the official told Reuters on Saturday.

Al-Mayadeen reported that US forces in Syria's northeastern Hasakah province were targeted by a drone attack on Saturday. Several explosions were heard inside the Kharab al-Jir Air Base after an explosive-laden drone struck the facility.

On Monday, another attack occurred when a rocket strike wounded five US personnel at Ain al-Asad airbase in Iraq's Anbar province.

Iraqi resistance forces have carried out dozens of strikes on US-run military installations in Iraq and Syria, amid rising anti-US sentiment in the region over Washington's support for Israel's genocidal war on Gaza, which has killed nearly 40,000 Palestinians, the majority of whom are women and children.

Currently, there are approximately 2,500 US troops in Iraq and around 900 in Syria. Washington claims that these forces are present to combat Daesh (ISIL or ISIS), despite the defeat of the Takfiri terrorist group by Arab countries and their allies in late 2017.
