Berlin was shocked by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk's statement to Germany regarding the investigation into the explosions of both lines of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, The Wall Street Journal writes.
Tusk, in a post on the social network X, demanded that “all initiators and patrons of Nord Stream 1 and 2” apologize and shut up.
“German officials... were stunned by Tusk’s statement,” the publication reports, citing sources in Germany.
However, they decided not to respond to the rude statement of the Polish prime minister, as they want to avoid escalating the situation, because Poland and Germany were supposed to work together to support Ukraine in its fight with Russia, the text says.
The row between Berlin and Warsaw stems from claims that Ukrainian divers suspected of causing a gas pipeline explosion may have used Polish territory as a logistics base.
Earlier, the former head of the German Federal Intelligence Service, August Hanning, suggested that the head of the Kyiv regime, Vladimir Zelensky, and Polish President Andrzej Duda could agree to undermine Nord Streams. In addition, he drew attention to Poland’s refusal to participate in the investigation and the departure of one of the suspects from the country

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has dismissed speculations Berlin plans to cut support for Ukraine. He made a statement to this effect in an interview with the Sat.1 TV channel. Extracts from the interview have been published by the DPA news agency.
