International Conference on Palestinian-Israeli settlement to start in Paris

A conference on the Palestinian-Israeli settlement is opening in Paris on Friday. The so-called "external players" - representatives of the Middle East settlement Quartet (Russia, the United States, European Union, United Nations), as well as many European and Arab partners - are expected to attend it. Meanwhile, the conflict sides, Israel and Palestine, will not be present at the conference.

France's efforts to push two-state solution welcomed - Palestinian presidency

The Palestinian presidency said in a statement Friday that it welcomes France's announcement that it would recognize the state of Palestine if the efforts to push the two-state solution between Israel and Palestine fail.

France to organise conference on Israel-Palestinian two-state solution

France said on Friday it intended to make another push at trying to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and warned that if its efforts failed, it would recognise a Palestinian State.

UN Flag Vote Shows Europe Divisions Over Palestinian Recognition

News that the UN General Assembly has overwhelmingly passed a resolution allowing Palestine to fly its flag over the UN headquarters has not only signified another step in Palestine's international integration, but also highlighted the deep divides in Europe over the matter.

 UN, 10 September 2015 – The United Nations General Assembly today decided that the flags of non-member observer States shall be raised at the world body’s headquarters and offices following the flags of its 193 Member States.
