Uncertainty in French presidential exacerbated by complex pollster situation

Uncertainty over the outcome of the presidential elections in France, with four evenly-matched candidates, has been heightened by a lack of reliable prediction polls that had anyway failed to foresee the results in the United States presidential contest or in the United Kingdom's Brexit referendum.



The difficulty of predicting the result has been complicated by the impact caused by Thursday's attack in the Champs Elysees.
