Moldavia aclara por qué EEUU renueva una de sus bases militares

EEUU está modernizando el campo de entrenamiento del Ejército Nacional de Moldavia en Bulboaca solamente para entrenar a los militares locales en tareas de mantenimiento de la paz. Así lo explicó en una declaración oficial el Ministerio de Defensa de Moldavia.

EU's incoming FM, Federica Mogherini, appreciates Moldova's pro-EU but not anti-Russian approach

"Moldova is an example for the states with European aspirations, especially because it chose the path to the West and simultaneously wants to keep the good relations with the East," visiting Italian Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini Monday told her Moldovan counterpart Iurie Leanca.

Mogherini came to Moldova for a meeting of the European Action Group for Moldova. It is Mogherini's first visit abroad after her designation on Saturday as EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

Moldova banned Russian TV channel to please US, EU (Moldovan lawmaker)

Moldova has banned rebroadcasting of Russia’s Russia 24 television channel being driven by the desire to please the United States and the European Union, Konstantin Starysh, a lawmaker with the Party of Communists and former chief of the Moldovan office of the MIR television company, told Itar-Tass on Friday.

“Nearly half of lawmakers were against the ratification of Moldova’s association agreement with the European Union out of fears that it might complicate relations with Russia,” he said. “The authorities tried to persuade us that they would do their best to remain in good relations with the strategic partner. And here is their first step - to ban Russian television channels in the territory of the republic.”

Moldova bans Russia 24 TV news channel from broadcasting in its territory

The Moldovan authorities have banned the broadcasts of the Russia 24 TV news channel in the Moldovan territory as of January 1, 2015 without stating the reason for their decision, the channel reported in its roller titles on Friday.

Russia to restrict Moldova meat imports from July 5

The imports of pork, beef, lamb meat and horse meat from Moldova will be allowed only in the form of meat carcasses, half-carcasses and bones in meat quarters...

Russia will restrict meat imports from Moldova from July 5 over violations of sanitary standards, the country’s veterinary watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor said on its website on Wednesday.

The imports of pork, beef, lamb meat and horse meat from Moldova will be allowed only in the form of meat carcasses, half-carcasses and bones in meat quarters, the watchdog said in a statement.

Στην εκδήλωση που πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Ζάππειο και οργανώθηκε από την Αντιπροσωπεία της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής στην Αθήνα, ο κ. Γεροντόπουλος τόνισε: «H υπογραφή, στις 27 Ιουνίου 2014, των Συμφωνιών Σύνδεσης και Ελευθέρου Εμπορίου με την Μολδαβία και την Γεωργία, όπως και τα εναπομείναντα κεφάλαια των Συμφωνιών αυτών με την Ουκρανία, είναι ένα ορόσημο ανάπτυξης για την πολιτική Ανατολικής Συνεργασίας και τις τρεις χώρες.

Russia is ready to have consultations with Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine on adapting economic policies following those countries’ association with the European Union, Russia’s Foreign Minister said.

"Today, we are signing Association Agreements between the European Union and three important European countries: Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. This is indeed a historic day: for the three countries themselves, for the European Union and for the whole of Europe.

The ceremony will take more than an hour. Each document must be signed by the heads of state and government of 28 EU member countries, as well as European Council President Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.

L'association Moldavie-UE et le libre-échange avec la CEI compatibles (PM moldave)

La Moldavie, qui signera vendredi un accord d'association avec l'UE, espère continuer à faire partie de la zone de libre-échange avec les pays membres de la Communauté des Etats indépendants (CEI), a déclaré vendredi à RIA Novosti le premier ministre moldave Iurie Leanca.

"Nous avons avec la CEI un accord analogue à celui que nous signerons demain avec l'UE: un accord de libre-échange. Je ne vois pas les raisons pour lesquelles nous devons changer quelque chose.

The Moldovan opposition Party of Socialists picketed on Wednesday the US Embassy in Chisinau, accusing Washington of putting pressure on Chisinau pushing it towards an association agreement with the European Union and towards breaking traditional ties in the east.

The EU's Association Agreements with Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine

On 27 June 2014 the EU will sign Association Agreements with Georgia and the Republic of Moldova and complete the signature process with Ukraine, each providing for a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area.

This is an important moment both for the EU and for the countries concerned as the Agreements will significantly deepen political and economic ties between the signatories with a long-term perspective of closer political association and economic integration.

NATO deputy head visits Moldova to enhance ties

Moldova's cooperation with the NATO will bring tangible results for the population of the country, visiting NATO Deputy Secretary General Alexander Vershbow said Monday.

Both NATO and Moldova could do more to expand their partnership, through enhanced political dialogue and practical cooperation, Vershbow told the Moldovan officials here.

Soon after his arrival in Chisinau on Monday, the NATO official met separately with the Moldovan president, prime minister and foreign minister.

Transnistrie: les signatures pour intégrer la Russie déjà à Moscou (Dmitri Rogozine)

Les signatures d'habitants de la république autoproclamée de Transnistrie, qui veulent intégrer la Russie, sont arrivées à Moscou, a indiqué dimanche Dmitri Rogozine, vice-premier ministre et représentant du président russe pour la Transnistrie.

"Les signatures des Transnistriens en faveur de la reconnaissance de leur république se trouvent déjà à Moscou. Les services spéciaux moldaves, qui ont perquisitionné notre avion, n'ont saisi qu'une partie insignifiante de la cargaison. Sa partie principale a échappé à leur contrôle", a déclaré le vice-ministre sur sa page Facebook.

Commissioner Malmström on visa-free travel for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova

Following the European Commission's proposal, tomorrow the decision to transfer the Republic of Moldova to the list of third countries whose nationals are exempt from visa requirement comes into effect. This means that, as from tomorrow, the visa obligation for citizens of the Republic of Moldova who hold a biometric passport and want to travel to the Schengen zone for a short-stay is abolished. 

Commissioner for Home Affairs Cecilia Malmström said: "I am extremely pleased that visa free travel has become a reality for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova with a biometric passport, who want to travel to the Schengen zone for short-stays.

Russia discusses gas supplies via Ukraine with Bosnia and Herzegovina, FYROM, Moldova

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak and Gazprom Head Alexei Miller held consultations in Moscow on Saturday with representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, FYROM and Moldova regarding ensuring transit gas supplies via Ukraine.

Representatives of economy, finance and energy ministries of Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, FYROM and Moldova have participated in the consultations, a Russian Energy Ministry spokesperson told Interfax.

"Consultation participants noted that trade and economic relations with Russia and the countries represented at the meeting are developing gradually and our countries are reliable partners," the Energy Ministry said.
