Inspect Yazidi mass grave: Kurds to International Criminal Court

Kurdish authorities want the International Criminal Court (ICC) to examine 25 mass graves in northern Iraq containing the bodies of Yazidis allegedly executed by the Islamic State (IS) militant group, a media report said on Thursday.

Kerry ‘confident’ Sinjar will be taken by Kurdish forces ‘in days’

Iraqi Kurdish regional President Massoud Barzani said Friday that the Iraqi town of Sinjar had been retaken from Islamic State (IS) group militants, with US Secretary of State John Kerry saying he was ‘confident’ the town would fall ‘in days’.

Islamic State frees around 350 Yazidi captives in Iraq's north

Islamic State freed around 350 members of Iraq's Yazidi minority, delivering them to safety in the country's Kurdish north.

Almost all those released were elderly, disabled, or unwell, and included several infants with serious illnesses, according to a Reuters reporter who saw them arrive in the Kurdish-controlled city of Kirkuk.
